June 17, 7pm PDT - Friday Forum with Don & Janea Loper
Our June Forum will be live at Lake Bible Church as well as on Zoom.
“A Conversation on Race”
Live Location: Lake Bible Church, 4565 Carman Dr., Lake Oswego, OR 97035
Zoom: Submit the form on the right to be redirected to the Zoom meeting.
A Conversation on Race will focus on an engaging dialogue about race and relevant topics. During the forum, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about race and use the Bible as the basis to discover the answers. In a time of great tension and division, we the church have the best source, God’s Word, to remain equipped to give an answer and to know how to respond in a right manner.
Don Loper was born and raised in Florida, and his youthful years in the late 1950s and early 1960s were during some of the more intense racial times in our country. He was baptized at 14 years of age, having been taught that a right relationship with God is achieved through baptism. Don has served in the military, worked for IBM, and is currently self-employed. In 1982, Don and his wife Joyce both received the Lord Jesus Christ. They have three children and six grandchildren. Don has served for many years in a ministry capacity, as part of Usher teams, finance committees, and evangelism teams. He has led an adult Sunday school class for more than ten years.
Janea Loper is a native Oregonian who has lived in the Portland Metro area all her life. Her parents raised her and two of her siblings. From an early age, church life became routine for her as the family attended a local body regularly. Her upbringing included a long stint of homeschool education after which she transitioned to community college. She graduated with a four-year degree from Portland State University. Janea works in the healthcare industry focusing on preventive healthcare. She currently goes to a church in Hillsboro, Oregon.
