December’s Friday Forum!
“IS ANYONE ASKING YOU ABOUT THE HOPE THEY SEE IN YOU?”
If not, why not? Are you hopeful in the midst of what is going on in our culture? Are you demonstrating it? Are you too caught up in the kingdom of this world instead of focusing on the “things above?”
The verse most apologists and apologetic ministries use to describe their ministry is 1 Peter 3:15 where Peter instructs believers to “be ready to give a reason for the hope that is with you.” But the truth of the matter is that mot many of us are being asked about the hope we have. Why not? There could be many reasons. A study of the historical context, the context surrounding that verse, and even a survey of the entire letter will help us understand why it was very appropriate then, why it is becoming increasingly appropriate today, and what kind of lifestyle will have friends asking us about the hope that we have within us.
