Volunteering as a youth group leader at a local church, I get refreshed hearing the kids talk about the lesson and what God has been teaching them. Looking at them, I can never imagine any of them to leave the faith, especially those who have grown up in a Christian household. However, according to a 2016 study by the Public Religion Research Institute, nearly one in four Americans who have a childhood religious identity become religiously unaffiliated as adults. That means nearly a quarter of my kids in youth group are likely to leave the church and forsake the faith.

Is there anything that can be done to address the problem of youth leaving the church? The Ambassadors Forum is hosting an upcoming event that addresses this very question. On November 19, 2021 at 7 PM, the Ambassadors Forum is having its monthly Friday Forum. Andy Frye in his talk “The Leavers and Rise of the Nones” will talk about what the church and parents can do about the rise of kids leaving the church.
